Privacy policy

This policy explains what data the Quorbe – Quiz quotidien app collects, why, who it is shared with, and what your rights are.

1. Who we are

Quorbe is published by Dany Petit, an independent developer based in Belgium, who is the controller of your data.

For any question about your data: contact@quor.be.

2. Data we collect

  • Account: your email address and password (only stored in encrypted form by the authentication service) or, if you use “Continue with Google”, your email address and Google account identifier.
  • Profile: your username, your avatar (a photo you upload or a drawn avatar generated by the app) and, if you fill them in, your hobby, country, website and bio. Your username, avatar and these optional details are visible to other players on your public profile.
  • Preferences: interface and question languages, time zone, daily goal, notification preferences and reminder time.
  • Game activity: your answers, scores, challenge completion times, streaks, experience points, virtual currency (Quorbiz), league, quests, virtual items, reports about questions and players, players you have blocked, as well as your friends, duels, party games and referrals.
  • Technical data: your device's notification token (to send the notifications you enabled) and the length of your app sessions, used only for aggregate statistics.
  • Purchases: for the “Remove ads” purchase, the Google Play purchase token and order number, to verify the purchase. We never receive your payment details: they are handled by Google.
  • Advertising: ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect your device's advertising ID, device information and IP address (see section 4).

3. Why we use this data

  • To provide the game and your account: daily challenges, leaderboards, streaks, friends, duels, party games, saving your progress (performance of a contract).
  • To keep the game fair and secure: server-side anti-cheat checks, abuse prevention, handling reports and blocks between players, purchase verification (legitimate interest).
  • To improve the app using aggregate statistics, such as question difficulty or average session length (legitimate interest).
  • To send you notifications and reminders, only if you enable them (consent, which you can withdraw at any time in the app or phone settings).
  • To show ads. In the European Economic Area, personalised ads are only shown with your consent, requested in the app (consent).

4. Who we share data with

We never sell your data. It is processed by the following providers, only for the purposes described above:

  • OVHcloud (France): hosting of our servers, database and avatars.
  • Google: Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications), Google AdMob (advertising), Google Play (in-app purchases) and, if you use it, Sign in with Google. Question explanations are generated with Google's Gemini API, which only receives the question text, never any data about you.
  • Other players can see your username, avatar, public profile and your results in leaderboards, duels and party games.

5. Transfers outside the European Union

Our servers are located in France. Google may process some data outside the European Union; such transfers are covered by the safeguards provided by the GDPR (European Commission standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework).

6. Retention

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account from the app, your profile, avatar and game history are deleted. Data processed by Google for advertising and purchases is retained according to Google's policies.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data, and to withdraw your consent at any time.

  • Delete your account: Settings → Delete my account, directly in the app, or without the app by following https://quor.be/suppression-compte.
  • Export your data: Settings → Export my data, directly in the app.
  • Change your username, avatar or profile: in the app.
  • For any other request: contact@quor.be.
  • You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority: www.dataprotectionauthority.be.

8. Children

Quorbe is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data about them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us data, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Security

Communication between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored in encrypted form, data access is restricted by strict server-side rules, and data can only be changed through the functions the app provides.

10. Changes

We may update this policy, in particular as the app evolves. The last update date is shown at the top of this page; we will let you know in the app about any significant change.
